About Eyvi Studio
Hello! I’m Alex, the designer and printmaker behind Eyvi Studio. Here you’ll find prints and greetings cards that I hope bring a touch of wild into your home.
The name Eyvi is inspired by the Eye Brook, a local conservation area, which, together with Rutland Water, is rich with birdlife and wild spaces.
My creative process starts with curiosity: sketching, observing and gathering inspiration from rural life, hedgerows, structures, woodlands and watersides. I like to simplify subjects and experiment with mark-making, layering and abstraction before refining ideas into finished pieces.
Techniques such as monoprint, collagraph, paint and collage allow me to explore shape, space, texture and colour - often boldly layering elements so that each print has a graphic sense of depth, pattern and movement.
Following an Art Foundation and BA in Multimedia Design, I’ve had a career in graphics and marketing, having recently found more time to spend on my artistic path. My present approach grew from my 2020 lockdown project, #100BritishWeeds, where I created monotype prints using foliage gathered carefully from Rutland’s wild places. Botanical monotypes feature in many of my prints and experimental printmaking continues to inform how I work.
Alongside printmaking, I also design repeat patterns for homewares and textiles, applying the same love of shape, colour and nature to a broader canvas.
You’ll find a selection of prints and cards available here on my website and through curated retailers and galleries. To see more of my ongoing process and inspiration, you can follow along on Instagram @eyvistudio.
Thanks for stopping by - I hope my work brings you some connection to things wonderful and wild!
