Full instructions are provided with each wallpaper roll. The following is a summary of guidance.

1. Inspect every roll

Before cutting and hanging the wallcovering, do a quick check that rolls have the same batch number and are in good condition, with no variations in shade and that no other faults are present.

Don’t assume that the wall covering will come off the roll the correct way up. Always refer to the pattern image online. (We know of some very clever people that have fallen foul to this error!).

2. Preparation

  • Walls should be dry, clean and even.
  • Remove any old wallpaper and loose paint.
  • Roughen painted surfaces with sandpaper.
  • Scrape powdery or flaky areas and paint with a suitably prepared size, allowing to dry completely.
  • If needed line walls with lining paper.
  • Ensure that the wall is an all over neutral shade with no highly contrasting areas.

3. Pasting & hanging

  • Eyvi wallpapers are paste the wall - so paste the wall and not the back of the wallcovering - no pasting table required!
  • A good quality, solvent free, fungicide protected ready-mixed ‘tub’ adhesive should be used (that well known paste the wall pink one is good). Do not use self-mix adhesives. All purpose and heavy duty pastes are not suitable.
  • Paste should be evenly applied to the wall to hang one length at a time, to an area slightly wider than width of the paper.
  • Butt joints and use a decorators brush to smooth down the wallcovering, working from the centre to the edges to express air bubbles.
  • Avoid squeezing paste out of the joints and ensure paste does not get onto the brush or roller.
  • Ideally no paste should be allowed to come into contact with the surface and hands should be kept clean and dry whilst hanging the wallcovering.
  • Should any paste have been allowed to come into contact with the surface, it should be lightly sponged whilst still moist, using a clean damp sponge.
  • Trim top and bottom with sharp knife or scissors.

All done!
